FUND ADMINISTRATION & VALUATION  MANAGER (M/F)

– LEADING TO CONDUCTING OFFICER ROLE (within 2 years)
 

DO Recruitment Advisors is delighted to represent a prestigious US Investment firm managing private equity.  This is a newly created role to join their AIFM in Luxembourg.

THE JOB:
The Fund administration & Valuation Senior Officer / Manager will work closely with the other Conducting Officers (“CO”) of the Luxembourg AIFM, as well as with the valuation team based in New York and the fund accounting & administration team based in New York, under the supervision of the Head of Tax and Administration.

Main tasks will consist of:

  • Supporting the maintenance of statutory books and records for the Luxembourg entities asrequired by law, including intra?group debt schedules and calculations of repayments and liaising with the service providers for the preparation of those books and records.
  • Assisting in the Tax and Accounting of the Irish and Dutch SPVs and liaising with the local service providers in those countries.
  • Assisting with the audits of the Luxembourg AIF’s, Management Company and the audited EU Platform SPVs.
  • Monitoring of bank accounts, invoices, payments on multiline and other treasury functions.
  • Assisting in corporate secretarial work, including the preparation of board and shareholder meetings (liaising with the lawyers) as well as the review and follow?up of minutes and obtaining signatures.
  • Supporting the oversight of outsourced functions (depositary, TA, accounting and administration, tax, IT); liaising with service providers and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
  • Supporting the other Conducting Officers with the monitoring of compliance with regulatory requirements, due diligence on service providers and delegates and assistance with the preparation of reports to the CSSF.
  • Assisting with the review of tax provisions and estimated tax calculations and oversight of the tax
  • return preparation.
  • Supporting the preparation of ad?hoc reports such as BCL reporting, tax reclaim forms, requesting tax residency certificates, etc.
  • Supporting the administration and daily management of the Luxembourg office.

WITHIN 2 YEARS, THE ROLE WILL EVOLVE INTO THAT OF CONDUCTION OFFICER IN CHARGE OF
VALUATION (in addition to the previous tasks):

  • Responsible for the day?to?day organization of the AIFM’s valuation function, as defined by the AIFMD and the CSSF
  • Evaluating and updating the policies and procedures for valuation including any oversight for supported valuation functions
  • Creating and maintaining the valuation control framework
  • Determining and approving valuation calculations
  • Liaising with supporting entities (NY team) and internal stakeholders to follow?up on status and performance of activities and performing ongoing monitoring on the supported functions
  • Identifying and ensuring that all issues that have been reported and corrected and preventive solutions have been implemented
  • Liaising with the Portfolio Management and Risk Management Conducting Officer and contributing to regular reports, identifying potential breaches, and escalating issues when required
  • Contributing to quarterly boards, notably by providing valuation inputs, findings and valuation Reports

THE CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • A candidate with at least 5?7 years of professional experience (big 4; administrator; accountant) who can perform commercial oversight and coordination. Professional experience in Private Equity is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of debt instruments such as convertible bonds and loans, profit participating loans, etc. is preferred.
  • Highly detail?oriented individual that possesses excellent organizational and communication skills and has the ability and eagerness to learn quickly; self?starter willing to take ownership in processes/projects.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written and good knowledge of French.
