SENIOR COMPLIANCE MANAGER (m/f)
THE JOB:
DO RECRUITMENT ADVISORS are delighted to represent their client, a famous Luxembourg-based fund and asset management company in their search for a Senior compliance manager. As a senior member of the Compliance Team, the Senior Compliance Manager plays a key role in ensuring the effective operation of the Compliance & AML Department. The position covers a broad scope including corporate compliance, AML monitoring, due diligence, internal reporting, and participation in governance committees.
Corporate Compliance Functions
-Stay up to date with regulatory developments in the industry and analyse their impact on the company.
-Maintain and update compliance policies.
-Implement the Personal Trading Policy and ensure its proper application.
-Execute the compliance monitoring program by conducting testing, assessing compliance risks, making recommendations to mitigate risks, and following up on corrective actions.
-Support internal training initiatives and promote a strong compliance culture across the organisation.
-Deliver a professional and positive compliance service to all employees.
-Coach and mentor other team members.
-Collaborate effectively with other departments such as legal, risk management, and external advisors to address compliance and AML-related matters.
Reporting Functions and Committee Participation
-Standardise current processes, ensure procedures are kept up to date, and develop new procedures as needed.
-Prepare compliance and risk reporting for internal committees and the Boards of the Funds and the Management Company.
-Prepare and submit regulatory reports to local authorities and respond to ad hoc requests.
-Actively contribute to weekly Risk and Compliance meetings as well as other governance committees.
-Participate in the Risk and Compliance Committee, and other committees such as the Governance and Policy Committee, as required.
Due Diligence Monitoring Functions
-Assist in managing the operational and compliance due diligence program.
-Review documentation from external managers and service providers including DDQs, offering documents, regulatory filings, and audit reports.
-Present findings and recommendations to the Investment and Risk & Compliance teams through detailed written and verbal reports.
-Partner with internal departments to respond to external information requests relating to due diligence on the firm or its managed funds.
AML Monitoring Functions
-Execute AML/KYC procedures related to investments.
-Perform and review AML risk analyses in line with internal procedures.
-Respond to or escalate urgent and sensitive KYC requests as appropriate.
-Act as a point of contact within the team for KYC-related issues.
-Oversee the company’s AML/CFT framework.
-Promote a strong AML culture throughout the organisation.
THE CANDIDATE PROFILE:
-Master’s degree in Law, Finance, or Financial Services.
-8 to 10 years of experience in the funds industry, preferably within compliance, audit, depositary bank, or legal functions.
-Comprehensive knowledge of the Luxembourg fund regulatory framework and of regulations applicable to Luxembourg management companies (e.g. governance, AML, investor protection, rules of conduct).
-Strong familiarity with domestic and European legislation and directives (e.g. AIFMD, EMIR).
-Familiarity with operational processes and risks in fund operations.
-Knowledge of private equity funds.
-Experience managing the expectations of senior stakeholders.
-Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
-Excellent communication and organisational skills.
-Ability to work effectively within a small team.
-Entrepreneurial mindset, collaborative attitude, polyvalence, and proactivity.
