THE JOB:
DO RECRUITMENT ADVISORS is supporting the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) in the recruitment of its next Senior Communications Manager (f/m). This is a unique opportunity to lead and structure the institutional communication of a leading research institute in Luxembourg.
In line with LISER’s strategic priorities, the Senior Communications Manager will define, structure and implement the Institute’s strategic communication approach, ensuring coherence between institutional priorities, research outputs and public expectations.
The role plays a central part in strengthening LISER’s positioning, visibility, media presence and societal impact at both national and international levels. Reporting to the Director of Administration and Finance, and working in close functional collaboration with the CEO and Vice-Executive Director, the Senior Communications Manager acts as a strategic advisor on all communication matters.
Key responsibilities include:
-Strategic communication, editorial leadership & digital communication
oLeading communication for major research projects (including ERC and Horizon Europe), ensuring strategic alignment and quality.
oDefining editorial guidelines and LISER’s institutional tone of voice.
oShaping LISER’s public narrative in cooperation with senior management.
oSupporting researchers in translating scientific outputs into accessible communication materials.
oOverseeing production of institutional content (website, newsletters, press releases, social media, publications).
oContributing to LISER’s digital strategy via the web editorial committee.
-Media relations, events & institutional visibility
oDeveloping relationships with national and international media.
oPreparing management and researchers for media interventions.
oDesigning and coordinating high-impact institutional and policy events.
oManaging end-to-end event communication.
-Monitoring, analytics & reporting
oTracking media coverage and communication impact.
oProducing insights and reports to inform strategic decisions.
oSupporting communication reporting for EU-funded projects.

THE CANDIDATE PROFILE:
-A Master’s degree in Communication, Public Affairs, Journalism or equivalent experience.
-Significant senior-level experience in strategic communication, preferably in a research, public or institutional environment.
-Excellent written and spoken English and French.
-Strong experience in media relations, editorial leadership and public positioning.
-Proven ability to work with senior leadership and researchers.
-Capacity to structure, prioritise and challenge communication needs in a complex research environment.
-Genuine interest in socio-economic and public policy issues.
-Entrepreneurial, proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
-Familiarity with the research sector and public policy debates (strong asset).
-Basic graphic design or video skills (e.g., Canva) would be an advantage.

THE CLIENT:
The LISER is a public research institute dedicated to applied empirical research in the economic, social, and spatial sciences. Based on the Belval campus, LISER conducts research with strong societal impact and actively contributes to public debates and policy-making at both national and international levels.
