SENIOR FINANCE MANAGER

THE ROLE :
Do Recruitment Advisors is pleased to represent  an international and prestigious investment firm in the recruitment of their VP Head of Finance.
He/she will report to the SVP – Head of Operations & Support and work closely with the company  Executive Committee in setting and executing the Finance strategy of the Company. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role by being responsible for managing all the Company’s Finance activities including Accounting, FP&A, Cash Management & Treasury and Payments.
The VP – Head of Finance will manage a multicultural team of 10 finance professionals and will be the point of contact for all the Company’s Finance matters with the shareholder.
The main responsibilities :
Finance Strategy and Execution:
Proposing the Company’s Finance strategy and objectives to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors (as required) and implementing them appropriately. This includes the operating model design, the insourcing/outsourcing strategy, financial systems architecture, and headcount requirements.
Accounting:
– All accounting related responsibilities of the Company and certain subsidiaries in accordance with Lux GAAP and IFRS accounting standards and providing monthly reporting to  the shareholder
– Ownership of bank reconciliations and other general ledger reconciliations.
– Being the key point of contact with external auditors throughout the annual audit process.
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
– Preparation of the annual budget and subsequent forecasting, variance commentary and reporting.
– Quarterly presentations to the committees and the Board of Directors on expense and investment matters.
Cash Management & Treasury:
– Cash management including position evaluation, limit monitoring, ownership of the cash pooling arrangement, account openings and investigation/handling of all related queries.
– Cash forecasting for fundings and repatriations and completion of all related transfer requests.
– Execution of transactions including MMF subscriptions/redemptions and FX trades.
Payments:
– Designing and maintaining a strong and efficient payment process for operating expenses.
– Obtaining approval for operating expense invoices and executing payments on the platform.
People and relationship management:
– Management and career guidance of the employees within the Finance function.
– Developing strong working relationships with other managers and employees of the Company.
– Active engagement with the shareholder colleagues and fully understanding the shareholder ‘s business to potentially expand Finance activities in future.
– Managing relationships with service providers (including banks and MMF’s) and completing vendor performance reviews.
Other:
– Advancement and integration of Finance systems to enable automation or performance enhancements in collaboration with the IT and Business – Planning & Execution functions.
– Working with the Legal & Tax Department on corporate income tax, VAT, transfer pricing and other tax matters.
– Maintaining a strong internal control environment, ensuring there is appropriate segregation of duties and adherence to the 4-eyes principle.
– Collaboration with the Risk function and completion of Risk and Control Self-Assessments and all applicable policies and procedures.
– Other ad hoc projects and activities when required.

THE CANDIDATE PROFILE :
– Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
– Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA, CPA or equivalent) with a Big-4 audit background would be preferred.
– Minimum of 12 years of relevant working experience, especially in the core responsibility areas detailed above.
– Previous experience as a Head of Finance (or in a comparable role) in Luxembourg will be considered as a strong asset.
– Proven track record as inclusive leader with excellent people management skills and several years of team management experience required.
– Strong ethical, professional and social responsibility skills to protect and enhance the reputation and trustworthiness of the company.
– Proactive team player, flexible and able to work in a complex and changing environment.
– Technologically advanced and intent on improving systems, digitalization, workflows, processes etc.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders at different levels (e.g.Company  employees, service providers, stakeholders at the shareholder).
– English full professional proficiency level required.
