TAX OPERATIONS ANALYST (M/F)
We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Operations Analyst to join our client in Luxembourg. The role is critical to supporting our banking operations to ensure compliance with global tax regulations, accurate reporting and efficient processing of tax-related transactions for customers and business units. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal stakeholders, external regulators, and tax authorities to support operational excellence and minimize tax risk.
As a member of the International Tax Group, the successful candidate may also support global processes and be involved in cross-border transactions, planning and projects. Candidates should enjoy working in a challenging/dynamic environment and should be committed to professional development (taking on new tax obligations and learning about new jurisdictions as the business grows).
THE ROLE:
- Manage the daily processing of withholding tax, transaction taxes, and related payments across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support the preparation and submission of regulatory tax filings (e.g., FATCA, CRS, 1099, QI reporting).
- Reconcile tax balances and ensure timely resolution of breaks or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers and functional teams (Operations, Finance and Compliance) to resolve tax-related issues.
- Monitor changes in Luxembourg and global tax legislation and assess their impact on Luxembourg bank processes.
- Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations, including documentation and reporting requirements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax controls to mitigate risk.
- Identify opportunities to streamline tax operations processes and improve efficiency.
- Contribute to system enhancements, testing and implementation related to tax operations.
THE CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in tax operations, financial services, or banking.
- Strong understanding of global tax regulations (FATCA, CRS, QI, 1099, withholding tax).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Avaloq and familiarity with tax reporting/operations systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams. High sense of responsibility, profit and cost awareness
- High degree of independence, work motivation, flexibility, diligence, ability of work in a team and assertiveness
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to professional development and staying updated on tax law changes.
- Fluency in English, other European languages (especially Portuguese) would be an advantage.
